Explore Top Free and Top New Free lists by country and category. Compare the apps in a market, inspect available rank changes, and open an app for a closer look.
Choose the right chart
Start with a country, then select a category and list type. Top Free helps you inspect established free apps in the selected market. Top New Free focuses on the new-free list available for that market and category.
Lists can contain fewer than 100 apps when fewer entries are available. Check the selected list and market before comparing two results.
How to use charts for competitor research
- Choose your niche. A Tools app and a racing game compete in different contexts. Begin with the closest category.
- Inspect several apps. Open relevant entries and compare their feature descriptions, ratings and keywords.
- Repeat for your next market. Research each country separately instead of assuming a strong position in one country transfers to another.
What rank changes can tell you
A change describes movement between available chart observations. A rising position can be a useful reason to investigate an app, but it does not explain why the position changed or how many downloads it gained.
Category position is not search keyword position. To investigate a phrase such as “car dashboard”, use keyword research and check the apps returned for that phrase.
