Google Play ad spy
Find out whether a competitor is buying installs, and what its ads say, before you plan your own campaign.
Where the ads come from
Google publishes the ads advertisers run in the Google Ads Transparency Center. ASO Lab looks up the advertiser behind an app or developer and shows its ads in one list: text, images and video thumbnails, formats and the dates they were shown.
What to look for
- Are they advertising at all? A fast-growing app with no ads is growing organically, which points to strong keywords.
- The message. Ad headlines show which benefit the competitor thinks sells the app. Compare it with their store title and short description.
- Formats and timing. Many new ads in a short period usually means a launch or a test.
What it cannot tell you
Ad libraries do not show budgets, bids, installs or which countries spent the most. No ads in the list is not proof an app runs no campaigns: some advertisers are not verified or not matched to the app.
